trying new coffees is probably one of my favorite things to do. coffee gets me through the day, it's one of the most stable relationships i have in my life, and it tastes so so good. being voted biggest appetite as my senior superlative i would say this gives me some pretty good qualifications for establishing which coffee is top-tier. there is no particular order to this, each of them matches a different mood i am in.

philz: philtered soul cold brew

this is the reason my excitement for coming home is usually ignited. this is so phenomenal i swear they put magic in the cup. this coffee never misses. there is something so perfect about this coffee. it's not too sweet, but is has this extra sparkle to it that makes it taste almost chocolatey. it does not have chocolate in it, but there is something about it that satisfies a chocolate craving along with a coffee one. i swear this coffee gives me serotonin, it makes my day every time i drink it and when i go back to school i honestly get a little sad.

obviously, it's iced, so it is perfect in really any kind of weather. i get it with oat milk obviously because i'm basic in a classy way. however, for you non-cold coffee folk, they have a non-cold brew form philtered soul that's incredible as well. it never misses, and if i could kiss a drink, it'd be this one.

coffee attic: orange latte

this sounds like such a weird mix at first, but when i tell you i dream of this coffee, i mean it. this coffee has the perfect proportions of vanilla to orange to espresso that will make you want to drink it like it's water. the location is not conveniently located and neither is the price, but if i'm feeling like spoiling myself, my mind goes to this coffee. it is one of the best things i've tasted in my life and i dream to one day replicate this at home. i prefer it iced with oat milk, but i'm sure it's amazing hot too because this coffee could not be bad to anyone.

blue bottle coffee: mocha

this coffee has been a part of my life longer than most of my friendships. for as long as i can remember, my mom would always make us stop for blue bottle coffee after church each sunday. when i was little i was not allowed to drink coffee so i had the hot chocolates and they were pretty good, but man, i did not know what i was missing. this coffee is beautifully made with tcho chocolate and espresso and it creates a perfect mix of chocolate and coffee. i practically was iv fed this coffee by the time i was in high school because my mom is obsessed. they have really expanded now and they have locations all over the place, but i remember the weekend trips and 20 minute detours just to get this coffee. this seems ridiculous to some, but completely normal for my mom, and now me. i like mine hot with oat milk, but almond is pretty good too. this coffee reminds me of my childhood and the love for food that my mom has instilled in me.
