recently, steve lacy has really grown in popularity because of the release of his third album gemini rights, on july 15, summer 2022. he has been one of my favorite artists for a while now so i am going to go over some of the best music that has made me fall in love with this man's music.

steve lacy has put out some phenomenal music. especially this summer with the release of gemini rights. the whole album is a masterpiece. before the release of the new album, i couldn't get enough of his 2019 album apollo xxi. his song playground is incredible and satisfying it is exactly what is needed when you're in your room just wanting to boost your serotonin levels or when you're driving on the freeway all the windows down and with your best friends. all you want yo do when you listen to it is just sit back and enjoy, it's the type of song that really distracts you from everything else that's going on. i literally can never get sick of this song, i've listened to it a million times and it's always giving me the mood booster that's needed. also, hate cd. wow another incredible work of art. he does a fantastic job of making a rhythm that's impossible not to love. he creates the feeling of wanting to dance, sing, scream, and just stop whatever you're doing to listen to the song.

wow i knew his music was good, but seriously, it's amazing. his newest album gemini rights earned praise from kanye west when he expressed that it's "beautiful." this album on near perfect in my book. he does an incredible job of offering a fresh perspective on R&B and i think he's about to be one of the most impressive musicians of this generation. the song helmet, the second track on the album, sets the bar for the album, this song gives us the classic lacy touch - it makes you stop and appreciate the music. it follows his incredible song static that is beautiful and tragic. the lyrics are tough, he's asking "baby" about what is happening in their life, why they are settling for something that he sees so clearly wrong. this sets the tone of gemini rights. he shares the two sided excitement of music and life, he talks about deep stuff on a deep level through both pop and slower tracks. static makes the listening reflect on their own experiences, is the way that we are going through out lives the best for us? the lyrics snap us back to reality but awhile protect us from the outside world. we enter the universe that lacy creates and for 35 minutes of this whole album.
this can be a huge statement, but he is the hybrid between frank ocean and kanye. i love this man, he is a mastermind in the music world. i want to see him live so badly. and if i could, i'd be his best friend
